Axel Zeebroek, un sérieux outsider pour lIronman de Nice 2010.
Axel Zeebroek (BEL) prendra le départ de lIronman France le 27 juin prochain. Le triathlète belge, vainqueur du Monaco Ironman 70.3 en septembre 2009, débute une troisième saison prometteuse au Triathlon Club du Grand Tournaisis (Tri GT). Porté par de bons résultats en 2009 et ses qualités cyclistes, le champion de Belgique (2009) sera un compétiteur sérieux de la course azuréenne.
Triathlète professionnel depuis 5
ans, Axel Zeebroek est un sportif précoce. A 4 ans, il sait nager, à 8
il devient le plus jeune belge à faire 20 km de natation en 10h32 !
Très à laise sur la partie natation il devient triathlète en 1995.
Les titres senchainent au fil des saisons et des courses : 13ème au
Championnat du monde de Pékin en août 2008, vainqueur du Monaco Ironman
70.3 en septembre 2009, 2ème à lIronman Arizona en novembre. Pour
2010, il débutera par le triathlon à Huy le 9 mai avant de rejoindre la
Côte dAzur pour lIronman France.
A nen pas douter, Axel constituera un rival sérieux pour Marcel Zamora
sur la partie vélo de la course. Et sa motivation est forte. Il vise en
effet le top 3 pour sassurer une qualification pour le Championnat du
Monde de Hawaii en octobre prochain.
Il espère ensuite remporter la victoire à lIronman 70.3 dAnvers au
mois de juillet. Pour être au mieux de sa forme et réaliser de
nouvelles performances, il a entamé sa préparation en novembre
travaillant en particulier sa gestion de leffort à vélo.

Axel Zeebroek, a serious outsider for the Ironman France Nice 2010
Axel Zeebroek (BEL) will compete at the French Ironman race on June,
27th of this year. The Belgium athlete, winner of the Monaco Ironman
70.3 Serie in September, 2009 starts a third promising season at the
Triathlon Club of Grand Tournaisis (Tri GT). Given his good performance
in 2009 and his quality in cycle, the champion of Belgium, has to be
considered as one of the most serious outsider of the race taking place
on the French Riviera.
Professional triathlete for 5 years, Axel Zeebroek is a precocious
competitor. He learned to swim at the age of 4 and at 8 years old, he
became the youngest Belgian to complete the 20 km in 10h32 ! With a
high comfort level with the swim part, he began triathlon in 1995.
The titles keep coming: 13th at the World Championships in Beijing in
August 2008, winner of the Monaco Ironman 70.3 Serie in September 2009
and 2nd at Ironman Arizona in November. In 2010, he will begin the
season in Huy on May 9th; he will then compete at the Ironman France.
No doubt that Axel will be an important contender for Marcel Zamora in
the bike leg of the race. And his motivation is strong. He aims to
finish in the top 3 to insure his qualification for the World
Championship in Hawaii in October.
He also hopes to gain a victory at the Ironman 70.3 serie of Antwerp in
July. To be in peak condition and reach a higher level of performance,
he trains since November, with special emphasis on the bike.
